Photo Book “To Live In Moments”

I plan on releasing a photo book titled “To Live In Moments” some time this 2009 Fall season. The idea for this project actually came to me about three years ago. I thought about photography as a way for the artist to capture what normal naked eyes would skip because sometime, the subject matters tend to appear insignificant like bugs, a dried leaf on the side walk or a piece of gum with an unusual shoe mark on it… nobody cares. The other times, because the objects or persons move too fast so that we can’t really see them clearly or we got distracted by many other things from surrounding environment.

Looking through a view finder help the photographers/artists to focus a bit more on composing the next piece. They have the controls of framing the shot, adjusting colors, speeds, white balance and more importantly, the depth-of-field. I found depth-of a -field fascinating and I can’t get enough of it. This “magical phenomenon” can’t be seen (or just very limited) with naked eyes but can be done fairly easy with cameras, of course even much better with with SLR or DSLR.

Capturing moments is an exciting affair. No wonder people love photography and willing to spend so much money on cool new cameras and taking pictures nonstop. I am one of those. I like to capture a moment, a scene that we either saw through our car windows and go: “Oh boy! I wish I had a camera.” You know… that’s an awesome feeling. I am interested in ordinary things and people, too. Like me, for example.
