Here it is… Hanoi 36 Street’ second round of logo design.
The second set has been made a couple of days ago. But due to some weird technical I’m dealing with (I’m being blocked from my own website from the home network. Took me 2 days to figure a way to get around it) I finally can post this.
This set is based on the very familiar works by Hanoi’s and Vietnam’s most remarkable painter Bui Xuan Phai. I’m very excited and honored to have found the inspiration from his work. His son, also a painter, Bui Thanh Phuong has been organizing galleries, exhibitions, websites… to gather Phai’s works and to promote these beautiful pieces. Check out www.buixuanphai.com for more information and show your support.
So far, I receive some good feedback. The most common ones are:
- Hey, that’s cool. I can see Hanoi’s Old Quarter
- Nice colors. Umm, I can kinda feel the streets
- Oh ok, I feel that “old streets” theme
- Zzzzz… dude I thought you are done with this already? (this one must have been commented around 4 AM)
- Ummm luv that color scheme. Grey walls, brownish red roof. It’s Hanoi’s Old Quarter
Me? I think the handwriting script helps pull it all together, and in a way, it’s asymmetrical and sort of funky, asrtsy like how the Hanoi’s image in many of the Hannoians is. Not much more to say, I guess it looks right for the time being and I get to catch up with some sleep
